Deep Learning · CNN intro
Convolutions as sliding filters with shared weights, padding, stride, pooling, output-size arithmetic, and a small CNN versus an MLP on digits.
- A convolution slides one small filter across the whole image, so the same weights detect a pattern anywhere.
- Output size = (input − kernel + 2·padding) / stride + 1.
